GREEN³ › Energy-efficiency

With the enlargement of our company-complex in Karlsruhe we’re going new ways of environment-protection.

With this project E&B is a worldwide pioneer. We started our energy-efficiency –concept in 2005 in association with the “Frauenhofer Institut für Solare Energiesysteme”, “ISE Freiburg” and the University of Karlsruhe. Several energy-efficiency-technologies that are combined with the building-structure help us to reduce the primary energy-requirement by 60%.

No energy keeps being unused: our heating finds its origin in our printing-machines that create a lot of it during their processes. We generate energy that is Co2-free as much as possible with earth-probes (??) and a brine/water-pumping station. We use the same energy-source for cooling plus the advantages of an automatic night-ventilation. The process water gets heated on the rooftop by solarpaneels.

The balance of our energy-efficiency concept for 2011 is amazing: the CO₂-Emission has been reduced from 61 tonnes to 32 tonnes. The heating-costs have been reduced by 50%. The energy-classification is better than the requirement-value of a new building. Considering to all those facts this unique energy-efficiency-concept is complete profitable.
